It is a pleasant relief to reach the edge of this tableland, and allow the eye to rest upon the village of 21 mi. STRATHY* which occupies a pleasantly sheltered valley, well watered by the river of the same name. At its mouth a good number of salmon are netted every year but the stream is too small for first rate fly-fishing. FYI, it says..."Duke of Sutherlands "Bighouse" formerly the seat of the Mackay's, a branch of the Reay family" is in close proximity. >
