Hi Diane, I must apologise for not replying sooner. I am in the early stages of this Calder search so cannot say for sure if there is or isn't a connection - just a matter of finding some more info. The Calders I have so far are Donald CALDER and Jean GUNN as parents of Alexander b 1820, Margaret b 1823, Catharine b 1827, Doll b 1831, Christian b 1833 and Jean b 1837. Alexander CALDER married Catharine MURRAY in 1865 and had the following Neil and Donald b 1867, John b 1869, William b 1872, Jane b 1874 and Jessie b 1877. Neil and Donald went to America in the 1880's and Neil returned to Bonar Bridge in the 1890's. He then came to Australia, settling in West Australia from about 1905. Please keep in touch if you find any connection (as I will!). Fran At 15:10 10/07/01 -0400, Bill & Diane Geddes wrote: >Frances (in Australia) - We have Calders, too, from Sutherlandshire.
