Theresa, I can't find the burial of Lieut. David Sutherland 1835 in either graveyard in Dornoch (Cowper & Ross). It is a bit early for memorials to have survived at Cathedral, most were cleared for rebuilding in late 1830s. Do you have death record from OPR? Let me know if you would like me to look up.
