Hello all, I was intrigued to find a Duncan Sutherland, under age 30, listed on the Rogart Milita for 1824 at Highland Hearts. <http://www.highlandhearts.com/rogartmilitia.html> There were only 3 birth registrations for the name Duncan Sutherland in a 40 year period (1780-1820). The Duncan of our family was born to James Sutherland and Catherine Campbell, 1797 in Rogart. He, his wife, mother and uncle are burried at the village cemetery in Earltown, Nova Scotia. The age on the list fits and I would believe him(Duncan) to be from our family. His older brother was William, born in 1795. Duncan Sutherland emigrated in 1831. His brother or cousin, John Sutherland came the same year. I would also like to know the following: 1. Does anyone out there have a connection with this Duncan? 2. Where is\was the residence Dalreavach? 3. Is there any information for the other 3 Sutherlands listed at this residence? A.)
