Dalreavich is high up in Rogart parish, north of Strath Fleet close to Strath Brora, just north of Rhelochan and east of West Langwell. I believe the Sutherlands at Dalreavich to be the same Sutherlands who later lived at Claggin, Muie and eventually many of this family moved out to Canada. They are believed to be relatives of the John Sutherland and Catherine Reid family. The 1812 list of residents of Rogart show Elizabeth Sutherland, widow at Dalriavich plus a 'residenter' Donald Sutherland. I think this Donald would be the father of the boys shown on the militia list. However, I and many others, have spent a great deal of time trying to unravel the story of the Sutherlands of Rogart and there are still many loose ends. The Duncan of our family was born to James Sutherland and Catherine Campbell, 1797 in Rogart. He, his wife, mother and uncle are burried at the village cemetery in Earltown, Nova Scotia. The age on the list fits and I would believe him(Duncan) to be from our family. His older brother was William, born in 1795. Duncan Sutherland emigrated in 1831. His brother or cousin, John Sutherland came the same year. I would also like to know the following: 1. Does anyone out there have a connection with this Duncan? 2. Where is\was the residence Dalreavach? 3. Is there any information for the other 3 Sutherlands listed at this residence? A.)
