They are a local preservation trust. They do have Ardvreck Castle on their project list. They also include the Mackenzie mansion of Calda House. We will be speaking to this group as a matter of course. We are also speaking with the group in Durness who are trying to preserve the grave in Balnakeil of Rob Donn Mackay, the poet. We are currently in touch with many such groups and will continue to speak with them. Our main aim is the preservation of graveyards and stones. Many of these other groups have quite different aims but as you say they do merge in some aspect. We are all trying to preserve our history. Would you like to send me the name of your contact at Historic Assynt and either an address or an email? Many thanks for your suggestion. Their aims have close parallels to POSH, and it strikes me that it could be helpful to both groups if there was liaison between them to avoid any potential duplication of effort. I therefore suggest this is added to the agenda for the Committee meeting. edward Limpsfield, Surrey ==== SCT-SUTHERLAND Mailing List ==== Please visit our NEW POSH web site at www.sutherlandheritage.com ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
