    3. Janette - I have only been with this list a few days, and already have been amazed at the names I've seen from the Orkney Islands - GUNN and now GROUNDWATER. The Orkney Islands are the main area of interest for my family research and I've got dozens of films for that parish alone. Marriages, 1870 entry # 31 [film # 363130] Here are the details of the 1870 marriage in Kirkwall, you didn't indicate you had them: On the 28th day of Dec'r at Mill Street, Kirkwall. after Banns, according to the forms of the U.P Church [United Presbyterian]. William McLEOD, Plasterer and bachelor aged 20 residing Queen St, Kirkwall married Barbara GROUNDWATER, a spinster aged 25 residing Mill St, Kirkwall. William's parents were Robert McLEOD, Farmer and Henrietta McKAY, deceased. Barbara's parents were Robert GROUNDWATER, Matchmaker, deceased and Ann MORGAN, formerly GROUNDWATER, maiden surname MUIR. David WEBSTER signed as minister of the U. P. Church in Kirkwall, witnesses were William STEWART and Robert WORK. Registered Dec 30 at Kirkwall, John WATSON, Registrar. I have the 1871 census for Kirkwall if you are interested in the census data for this couple, assuming they are still in Kirkwall. Let me know. Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma
