    3. Canada has not allowed the LDS to film census records because of the Mormon practice of baptizing these people. Even though the LDS is now going to separate names into two groups, those submitted by church members and those acquired by other means (who presumably would not be baptized), Canada will still not allow filming of provincial records. I have viewed Canadian census films obtained through interlibrary loan; that is the only way I know to see them other than visiting Canada. Some of the McKays in Zorra are ours: William Bain McKay, b. April 1809, Creich +Christene Sutherland, b. 1810 Donald, b. 1835, Kincardine, Ross & Cromarty Johanne, b. 1837, Kincardine, Ross & Cromarty Alexander, b. 1839, Kincardine, Ross & Cromarty Ellen/Helen, b. 1841, Ontario Christene, b. 1843, Ontario William, b. 1845, Ontario Margaret, b. 1847, Ontario George, b. 1850, Ontario If anyone is interested in this McKay family, I have a lot of information to share as it is one of the main lines in my husband's family. Other lines: Geddes, Sutherland, Kennedy. Regards, Diane Geddes ------- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
