Ian, You probably know that William's middle name was Baillie? I don't know where I got this information from [should be referencing my sources obviously!]. William's wife Georgina would have been a niece and cousin to my REED ancestors. They had at least 2 children, Elizabeth and Gabriel. Have you looked William up in scottishdocuments.com? I think he could be the one listed as William ROSS, surgeon at Cambusmore, Sutherland. The record is dated 1847, filed at Dornoch Sheriff Court and is 5 pages long [in my experience, the actual number usually turns out to be less but you get someone else's pages thrown in]. I'd be most interested in whatever you find out about William and Georgina. Good luck.
