Dear Lois, Talking of MACKAY/ MANSON marriages...Is this family in your tree? Death 34 Hugh MACKAY, pauper, formerly crofter; 24 Nov, 1888, Midtown, Tongue; 80; Angus MACKAY, crofter, dec'd, Marrion MANSON, dec'd; heart disease, 3 years, as cert'd by James B Cunningham; Donald Gow MACKAY, son; I believe Hugh MACKAY was married to my great grandmother's half sister, Jannet MACKAY, but I have not found a son a son called Donald Gow MACKAY. Hugh was Jannet's senior by 20 years, so perhaps he had been married before. The 17 year old Donald Gow MACKAY in 1881 census lived in Skinnid, not Midtown and was the son of Elizabeth. Any thoughts?
