Hi Celeste, This was in the Northern Times of 16 December 1915. Mrs. Gordon, Whitehill, Loth received word from the War Office on Monday that her son Sergeant Donald Gordon, Cameron Highlanders was Killed In Action on September 25th. He acted as postman for the district for a number of years and afterwards emigrated to Canada. He was a reservist in the Cameron Highlanders and rejoined his regiment at the outbreak of the war. He had taken part in a number of engagements. This may be your Whitehill - I certainly can't find it on any maps that I have of the Loth Area. These articles are particularly poignant at this time.
