Have just noticed that the columns for the privates are different: No of days which Pay is Charged for Each Man, No of days for which Increased Rates are Charged for Each Man (sub-divided into Allowance to Men in Lieu of Beer and Allowance to Men in Stationary Quarters) and Marching Allowance, followed by the number of miles marched going and returning. Some of them marched 30 miles so perhaps they would rather have had the beer!! Sue
