I need a term to describe a child born before the marriage of his/her parents but who is presumably automatically legitimised by the marriage. I have thought of 'pre-nuptial' but wonder if this is self-explanatory or, better still, if there's already an accepted term. This state of affairs has happened more than once in my family.
