Hi Christine and thank you for such a quick response. The information I have comes from a diary of an ancestor written in the mid to late 1800's. It could be Torboll but I'm pretty sure it's an A. And I omitted the vitally necessary time frame! mid 1700's. The earlier Robertson's came from Ross and Cromarty but Francis was a schoolmaster of Tain and Minister at Clyne. I don't know if the Mackay's are related to him or his wife Jane nee Sutherland or even via one of their children. Yes please I would like to see the info on the Mackay/Robertson connection at Muie. Mackay of Tarboll of Rogart Tarboll of Rogart is a new one on me. Where did you get the name? Is it a very old document? Robertson is a very rare name in Rogart but there was a Mackay family with Robertson connections at Muie. Although not the names you mention. If you wish to see them let me know. Can anyone relate to the above Mackay's who had a relative named Margaret Robertson daughter of Rev Francis Robertson and Jane Sutherland? Torboll is a farm to the south of the river fleet. It is now part of Cambusmore estates and can be found on the map of area on road bearing right at the mound ending at bonar bridge. It is near rogart but Rogart is too the North of the river Fleet and on road to Lairg Hope this is a help and makes sense. Davie
G'day Davie Clear as mud mate :) but I'll find a map now that I know the area to look and hopefully I'll locate it. Many thanks for your help.
