As I have observed various translations for place names, does anyone have an English version for Knockarthur and for Dalreavoch? 'Knock' is Gaelic 'cnoc' generally pronounced 'krohk' with nasalised 'r' and 'o' and means 'hill', so 'Arthur's hill'. 'Dal' is Gaelic (from Norse) 'dail' = 'dale', pronounced 'dal' (the 'i' isn't sounded, but tells you how to pronounce the 'l'); 'riavoch' looks like 'riabhach' 'grey, grizzled, drab', pronounced rEE-avach (ch as in 'loch') --- so 'grey valley'. Adjectives almost always come after their nouns in Gaelic, as here. Note too how Arhur's hill becomes 'hill Arthur' with no 'the' or 'of'.
