I again listers I am pleased to announce that 36 minute after my initail possting I recieved a reply form none other than the list host who happens to be research ing my same MACKENZIE line!! Now that doesn't happen very often! My name is Rebecca (Becs) and I live in Invercargill, New Zealand. My interest in Sutherland is MACKENZIE and this is my partner's grandma's family. She is still with us and will be very pleased when I pass on my news. I have been doing my own family history since I was 13 (I am now going on 24) but I wish I could have started ten years earlier as most my great grandparents and one great great grandfather were still alive until I was ten! No one else in my family was interested in genealogy before me so no one asked then any questions before they passed away. :( I have no other interests in Sutherland unfortunately but the rest of my research ranges from Shetland Islands to Aberdeen, Isle of Skye, various counties in England and Glamorgan Wales. My partners maternal grandfather was from Northern Ireland and that will be my biggest challenge yet. In new Zealand my families went to every possible area and then somehow met up in Wanganui in the North Island in the last three generations. So we were a gypsie lot which makes it all very interesting as I have learnt a lot about a lot of places and history. Well that's me, I hope I haven't gone on too much, but I love genealogy and all the helpful people I have met. Becs
