Hello Malcolm Many thanks for that interesting information. I found Alexander Urquhart on the 1881 census, ( obviously he was retired then as he was 77 but he was also blind - I have been told that the blindness was caused by working in a cold room where they kept the salmon!) but there was no address - it just stated the census place ( Lochbroom, Ross & Cromarty) - I also found his son John who was farming at Farmers House At Square, census place Lochbroom R&C. he had one brother Findlay living with him, another brother David went down to London to live - the fourth son Thomas I am not sure if he went into farming. Obviously I would like to research back as far as I can with the family, but with information like yours it make the family really interesting - again many thanks Regards Margaret
