Hi Bill & Diane Further to my earlier message regarding Christian Ross I have now checked and double checked and the only other Christian Ross born in Dornoch about the same time was: Isobel MURRAY and John ROSS married on 5 August 1786 at Dornoch (IGI). They had the following children (ROSS): Christian, born 22 May 1787 Dornoch (IGI) and Christian, born 19 September 1793 Rearquhar (OPR). In 1787 John Ross was a soldier (OPR). Presume the first Christian died as an infant hence the birth of the second. Neither of these births were in 1790. I think it is now pretty safe to assume that Christian Ross, daughter of John Ross and Effy Murray, is the one you seek. Christy Ross married to Alexander Geddes died in Dornoch in 1856 so she will have a proper official death certificate. In Scotland these show the names of the deceased persons parents.
