Hi all Just thought I would put my piece in seeing as we are talking about the census. At least historians are starting to see the value in the census returns in New Zealand. For the first time ever, they are telling people the forms will be kept for 100 years and then could be published. Anyone can ask that their details are not published - unlucky for someone. All previous years census in NZ have been destroyed. However, we have our electoral rolls - everyone over the age of 18, (used to be 21) have to register to vote and everytime you change your address at the post office your details are amended. This roll is published every 4 years so it is a very valuable source of info. Thats all from me for now. Regards Mary-Ann Farr
