Ann,s parents wereJohn Mackay & ann Macbeath of Reisk James chidren :- > > John1804 ,Margaret 1802, Neil .1804, Andrew 1807,Christy 1810,John 1812 ,& Adam1817.Neil married Margaret Ross on the 21st March 1840 & they had 8 children. I know nothing of the others nor can I find any reference to James and Ann in the pre 1855 Monumental Inscriptions or so far on 1851 Census. The National Library Of Scotland say they have a John & James Macbeath at Reisk in 1812 & in 1814 an Angus. The Sutherland Papers " do not give details of where families went to after they were cleared" Can any one help me with this & or any details about Reisk I have a copy of the Landmark /Ordnance Survey Map for 1879 with the spelling as Riasg this only shows a few buildings. My cousin went there a while ago & was told ther was an intention to mark house sites & even who lived in them does anyone Know if this has been done?
