Hi Amanda Although you say there were 15 Donald Sutherlands born in Scotland in the year 1779 there were only four born in Sutherland around that period. Do not look at 1779 only as most of our ancestors seem to have lost or gained a couple of years during their lifetime!! Go to the IGI - put in his name and choose birth - then choose 5 years either side of 1779 - hit British Isles, Scotland, Sutherland and you will see that there were only two in Clyne. As Donald returned to Clyne I think he may well have come from there. Have a look anyway. By private email I have sent you the email address of the other researcher on your family. If your Ref G337 (and G301) is Jemima (Jamima) Grant daughter of Jane above and James Grant then I have her birth date as 16 June 1842, she emigrated to New Zealand but I can't find details of the ship she was on. I have her death recorded as occurring in 1917 in New Zealand. I have been told there is a woman in New Zealand who is a descendant of hers and who has started researching, but as yet I have not been able to get contact details.
