Hi, Everyone, I am taking up Christine's suggestion and explaining my interests. My husband's mother was a Sutherland from Scullomie, near Tongue, and I know a little about the families who lived in the 12 houses there. Also done some work on a relative's forebears from Skerray and Armadale - alas they are almost all Mackays which makes research very difficult. Cheers, Mary mary@cmy.org.uk www.cmy.org.uk
> Hi, Everyone, I am taking up Christine's suggestion and explaining my interests. My great great and my gt gt gt grandfather on my mother's side were from Durness in Sutherland. John Ogilvie and his wife Jessie McIntosh who lived in Durness and were married in Tongue 10/3/1864. John's father William Ogilvie married Jane Ogilvie but I have no further information about William & Jane. Any information abouth them would be greatly appreciated. The Ogilvies then moved south to Morayshire where they have been to this day. Why they were up in Sutherland is a mystery to me and has baffled the rest of the family. I am the only one in the family who has ventured into the realm of genealogy and as a result the other members of the family are waiting with baited breath on my discoveries.
