Hi Tom, The IGI lists the marriage of William Ogilvie and Jane Ogilvie on 30 Mar 1831. It also lists two children: Jane Anne Ogilvie, christened 7 May 1832 at Tongue; and John Ogilvie, christened 27 Feb 1834 at Tongue. My great great and my gt gt gt grandfather on my mother's side were from Durness in Sutherland. John Ogilvie and his wife Jessie McIntosh who lived in Durness and were married in Tongue 10/3/1864. John's father William Ogilvie married Jane Ogilvie but I have no further information about William & Jane. Any information abouth them would be greatly appreciated. The Ogilvies then moved south to Morayshire where they have been to this day. Why they were up in Sutherland is a mystery to me and has baffled the rest of the family. I am the only one in the family who has ventured into the realm of genealogy and as a result the other members of the family are waiting with baited breath on my discoveries. Hi Ian Thanks for the information unfortunately I already had that and it here I have hit a black hole. Its the information on the William and Jane who were married on 30 Mar 1831 that has me stumped as I don't know where they came from or what they were doing so far north as Ogilvie is not a name that is usually associated with Sutherland. Williams grandson another William moved down to morayshire circa 1890 and the family have been there ever since. If you have any info from Durness that could poss help I would be most greatful.
