I am always interested in books about the Highlands and have recently bought "The Trial Of Patrick Sellar by Ian Grimble" this is an excellent book perhaps miscalled as I expected a book about his Trial which it is not but I would still recommend it . Another buy has been " The Third Statistical Account Of Sutherland " done in 1988 yet to be read. What are other List members reading or what books would you recommend about Sutherland or the Highlands? I also bought the Trial of Patrick Sellar by Ian Grimble expecting it to be about the trial but interesting nonetheless. Another view on an old subject well written. I find the Statistical Accounts fascinating. I did a comparison on Rogart between all three Statistical Accounts and found little real basic change but a fascinating insight into how three different writers viewed the parish.
