I'm currently a Family Tree Maker user, and like Margaret of British Columbia, find it very user friendly. They are always improving their product and the cost of updates is quite reasonable. I have heard, however, that Master Genealogist is the best program out there and one that serious genealogists prefer, and it is suppose to be easy to use. I recently met with a few professional genealogists and all of them are using Master Genealogist. Karen Sutherland-Pahia Kahaluu, Hawaii
Hi! I have also heard Master Genealogist is the best programme & the one that most professionals use. If I were starting out now, despite how much I like Family Tree Maker, I would be taking a serious look at Master Genealogist. I have not yet seen it though, so am only going by hearsay. I also use Family Tree Maker and like it but ....... would love to know how to get this programme ( and others)to organize and print the data in direct descendant format. Organising by generations is confusing. Data based programmes should be able to sort the information in various formats. Is there a programme that sorts the data by direct descendants? Any suggestions?
