Hi Shane, After temps in Cairo, I expect you will need a coat anywhere in the UK, not just in the Highlands! Temperatures in East Sutherland have been up around the high teens C for the last few weeks, so we all in shirtsleeves here. I went to the beach today in just a tee shirt today - I thought it was lovely and warm. You should have no problem finding internet access up here. Even Embo has (its own form of) an internet cafe - just without the cafe - it's in the shop I think. Which way will you be 'gazing' over the Dornoch Firth? I think the best view is from the north side - that way you KNOW you are in Sutherland, boundary changes not withstanding. Give me a shout if you actually get up this far. Denise Sutherland
