This connection with Isabella SUTHERLAND and Happy Valley (Australia) is very interesting. Isabella SUTHERLAND and John ANDERSON both lived at an Inn in the Golspie Main Street owned and run by Ann McGLASHAN (1841 and 1851 Census'). Census details put Isobella's year of birth at around 1826. John ANDERSON came to Melbourne in 1853 and from 1860 to 1880 worked at the Old Lucky Woman's Mine at Happy Valley (near Ballarat). He then took up land at Port Campbell, which is close to Camperdown where it appears that Isobella SUTHERLAND and John McKAY ended up. There is too much coincidence to for this Isobella not to be the same person. I have also talked to a number of people on the list about linkages between McGLASHAN, DUNCAN, MUNRO, ROSS, FRASER and ANDERSON and particularly linkages between these people and the Western District of Victoria Australia. I am just so busy at the moment, but will get back to this towards the end of the year.
