    3. Hi Madaline, I personally have no knowledge of this family but there is a little more info. in the Durness OPR that might be of interest to you. The address for the births is Badamhoir/Badavoir, the same as your Calder/Ekels. John's patronymic is macEanmhicean'icannich, which I think is son of John, son of John, son of Angus. The last name is a guess, since I can't think of a Gaelic name that would sound like "annich" (It could be Kenneth) Isobel's patronymic is nin Robmacean'icenich - daughter of Robert, son of John, son of ? Angus? Kenneth? The baptisms I saw were: Catherine Nov 6, 1783; Robert July 29, 1787; and Barbara Feb 7, 1794. They had at least three children that i have found. The first being Catherine mackenzie baptised 6 Nov 1783, she married Hugh Calder and moved to Cape Breton. The second was Alexander MacKenzie baptised 1 June 1812 (don't know what happened to him) The third was Barbara MacKenzie who also moved to Nova Scotia and married James Calder. Any one with information about John Mackenzie and Isabel Mackenzie or their children, I would really like to hear from you.
