    3. Lynn - I found it most interesting that you own a piece of land that once belonged to the Calders. James Calder and wife Johanne McKay were my husband's great-uncle and -aunt. They showed up in the Oxford Co., Ontario, Canada, 1881 census and then migrated to Winnipeg where James died in 1882. Johanne stayed there and died in 1928. Do you know any history of the property you now own? I believe that James' father John lived on Lot 18. I know that some of John's children stayed in the Oxford Co. area as they are buried in N. Embro Cemetery and Kintore Cemetery. Perhaps they would have continued to farm on Lots 18 and 20. We are most interested in James and Johanne but would be happy to have information about the rest of the family, too. >From your e-mail address, I am guessing you live in Oxford Co. My husband's grandfather owned the hardware store in Embro, and the building still stands today with his name on the side.
