Malcolm Dundee, Scotland -----Original Message----- From: John McKay [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 17 October 2002 09:52 To: [email protected] Subject: [SUT] Charles Mackay - the poet Lister (& especially Malcolm) Have a faded photostat of some poetry written by Charles Mackay from Blackie & Son "Poets & Poetry of Scotland" complied I think by James Grant Wilson. Seems rather decent stuff. Copy is of pages 380 - 389 (I think) and notes that Charles was born at Perth in 1814 but spent much of his early years in London. Somewhere else in there (I remember reading before it faded) is said that he was a 'minor poet'. Seems he visited the States in 1857 as Dr. giving "lectures which well illustrated his genius". Has anyone got this book and if so, copyright considered, can they help me obtain a reasonable print of Charles' work in this? Sounds like an interesting fellow. Any help?
