A bit off tipic but having a bit of trouble finding an ancestor who died at sea by reports. Wondering if anyone can tell me where his death might have been registered (Scotland or England?) and how I might "find him". Especially if some kind soul in that part of the world would look for him. His name was John Thomason Mackay son of Wm James Mackay of Shetland. JT had been born Aug 1870 and suggestions are that he died aged about 19 but could be as early as 1885 or late as 1890s. Hoping for a fellow listers support with this and am happy to do reciprocal research here and bear reasonable costs Regards, John McKay JP Victoria, Australia
John info. may be in BT344 on the P.R.O. site Iain ----- Original Message ----- From: John McKay <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 19, 2002 4:29 AM Subject: [SUT] Merchant seaman deaths > A bit off tipic but having a bit of trouble finding an ancestor who died at > sea by reports. > > Wondering if anyone can tell me where his death might have been registered > (Scotland or England?) and how I might "find him".
