Ann Grant, born 1805 Dornoch, daughter of Hector Grant and Janet Duff, married Alexander CALDER. They had Isabell, born 1828; Janet 1830; Hector 1832; Wilhelmina 1834; Ann 1836; Abigail 1838; Ellen 1840; Catherine 1842. All the children died in Oxford Co. Ontario from 1895 onwards. Alexander Calder died in 1844 in Oxford Co. Need to know who this Alexander Calder was - did they marry in Sutherland or in Canada? Who were his parents? Are any descendants of this family still in Oxford Co. Christine Stokes: I have searched for these people in the Oxford Co., Ontario, area to no avail. They do not appear in the 1852 Census of E. Zorra Township or W. Zorra Township or the 1881 Canadian census. They are not buried in Old Log Cemetery nor in North Embro. Mention was made, however, of a Williamene Calder who married a Jos. Bowes in the Mary 1, 1864, issue of the Ingersoll Chronicle. Ingersoll is in Oxford Co. Is this worth pursuing?
