I fear I'm one of the people who have written to just Christine, instead of posting to the list as a whole, for my inquiry. My apologies :) I'm looking for a John GORDON, born between 1825 and 1827 in Golspie. His death certificate and several census records list his birth place as Golspie, and his parents as Donald GORDON and Elizabeth McLEOD. I've looked in the IGI, and Christine has looked in her records, and no match has yet been found. He moved, before 1849, to Angus county (he married Elizabeth CUTHILL there in 1849. I've found a listing for a John born to a Donald GORDON in Golspie, but the years and mothers (at least what is listed on the Death Certificate) do not match. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. I'm visiting Scotland next month, and if I could track this down, it would be quite helpful. Thanks!
