Roy; Saw your list of names you sent out August 31. It has been some time since I posted the name CROOKS, so that likely explains why it wasn't on the list. ROBERT CROOKS and JANE (Janet) TURNBULL were married on March 10, 1832 in Lilliesleaf. Her family is well documented, but I can not find were he came from, although he was registered as being from the parish of Ashkirk - nearby in Selkirkshire. They showed up in Ontario, Canada in 1842. It is possible they came through Ireland, because some of the records list the oldest son, George, as being born in Ireland.
