Hi Listers, I am searching for the roots of my 2x grgrandfather Adam SCOTT. I know for sure that he was married in Forteviot nr Perth in 1837 to Margaret NIVEN. In the marriage declaration it was indicated that he was from the nearby village of Dunning however I have never been able to find his birth there. Also, according to one of the Census', he would have been born abt 1813. In the IGI, there is an Adam SCOTT, c. 6 Sep 1812 in Southdean, which I understand is near Chesters on hwy 6088. There is one more big clue. According to the IGI, the parents of the Adam born in Southdean were Thomas SCOTT & Mary HOBKIRK. The children of "my" Adam and Margaret were -- first son was Thomas and the second daughter was Mary -- a perfect match for the naming tradition in Scotland at the time. Was "my" Adam born in Southdean???? Does anyone out there have any knowledge of the SCOTT's of Southdean and specifically Adam. Any assistance would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Ted West Vancouver, BC, CAN
