Hello I am researching the following names in the borders and Rox area Winter(s) - Yetholm and Town Yetholm - in particular Isaac Winter and his wife Isabella Richardson late 18th and early 19th century - daughters and sons including Jane Winter who married into family below Romaines/Romains/Romanis etc - Joseph Romaines (spelled variously) father William mother ?Isabella? - married Jane Winter in 184o's and lived all over the place including Gateshead Co Durham, Kirknewton area particularly Kilham and Kirk Yetholm. I have details of the Romanis family up till the 1900 mark (ish) but not much on the Winter family - just some educated guesses so far. EUPHEMIA BEATRICE ROBSON thier only beloved daughter who died 20.9.1890 aged 8 years also ALICE COCKBURN his wife 19.1.1895 aged 38 years also ROBERT his son who died at Newcastle 26.2.1896 aged 26 years also the above ROBERT ROBSON who died at West Newton 25.3.1904 aged 66 years. (Beside gate) In memory of DAVID LYON who died 10.12.1840 aged 86 years also ANN WIGHTMAN his spouse who died 16.3.1842 aged 66 years also ANN LYON who died 4.6.1827 aged 8 years also JANE LYON who died 1.3.1847 aged 39 years also MARY T. MITCHEL spouse of THOMAS LYON died 19.4.1849 aged 26 years also DAVID LYON their son who died 17.1.1849 aged 7 weeks also ELIZABETH WINTER spouse of THOMAS LYON who died 12.7.1859 aged 37 years also DAVID LYON their son who died 31.10.1884 aged 27 years also the above THOMAS LYON who died at Yetholm 27.2.1888 aged 78 years. There are no ROMANIS (or variants) in Yetholm churchyard. I always thought this name had gypsy connections, but I don't know on what I based this. I had a look in the 1881 census to see if any other clues showed up. This could be ROBERT WINTER (d.
