George LEES was the Informant & present at the death of his Grandfather Alexander DODDS. I would love to make contact with the family. Alexander DODDS, who died age 81 yrs in April 1932, in Galashiels, was the Widower of Janet LAMB & the son of John DOD(D)S & Elizabeth, maiden name, JEFFREY. The Death Cert for Alexander has Elizabeth recorded, mistakenly as Margaret. John DODDS & Elizabeth JEFFREY married in Stow Village, in 1850. Elizabeth, daughter of the late Alexander JEFFREY , Hind, shows as having a child, Alexander, Illegitimate 1849, Melrose, Parish Records, however, we believe that as there was a Bap. of an Alexander in Stow 1851, we assume that the first Alexander may have died. The first Alexander may have been the son of James Paterson & Elizabeth Jeffrey. These two, were before the Kirk Session, 1849, Parish of Earlston.
