    3. thanks Faith, dont think thats a connection as such. But there is an interesting link between the Kelso MITCHELLs and Fife MITCHELLs. I think it was Thomas MITCHELL the Kelso draper (died in the 1870s I think) whose father was a mining engineer and who was born in Fife. I hope that one day I can link these MITCHELLs to the Wanlockhead mines but at the moment its still filed under wishful thinking.
