Apologies to those who receive this on more than one list. I'm looking for everyone who can claim a family connection to McKERRELLs on the Isle of Islay, Argyllshire, Scotland. They are widely scattered and are known to have settled at least in Canada, South Africa, East Africa, USA and Australia. The reason for the search is to invite them to the very first family reunion called "The McKerrells Return to Islay" http://clanmckerrell.50free.net/return.htm, to be held on Islay from 11 to 13 June 2004. The event is designed to be high on fun and low on formality, a chance to meet new relatives and old friends, and to find their place in the family tree. The Chieftain of the McKerrells, Charles McKerrell of Hillhouse, has expressed an interest in attending. The date was chosen to complement "Tilleadh Chlann Ile" (http://www.islayreturn.com) a family history event for subscribers to the SCT-ISLAY list that is being held on Islay from 6 to 10 June 2004. I know there are lots of Islay McKerrell descendants out there, whatever their present surname and however it is spelled.
