Hello John, My Armstrong's are originally from Roxburgh/Northumberland, around the border between the two. I have got as far back as 1770 ish with certainty. The main areas are Deadwater, Kersey Cleugh (near Kielder), Falstone, Bellingham, Roberton, Hyndlee, Pinglehole, Singdean, Pleaknowe, Langsidebrae, Castleton, Hobkirk, Cavers and then latterly near Lockerbie and Eskdalemuir. Any possible connection do you think?. There are strong links with Murray's particularly around the Deadwater/Castleton and Eskdalemuir areas, also there are two Cowans married into my line.
