As an aside, I thought I would tell those of you with scots heritage out there of my 13 year old son, whom despite being a 6th generation Australian will proudly be attending the Scotland vs USA game in Brisbane in October in his Scots rugby jumper and our recently received the family tartan. He's never been to Scotland and does a truly terrible scots accent, but proudly boasts of his scots heritage. In fact in a cupboard full of Queensland, Australian, School & Club rugby jumpers, the only two that don't match the pattern are his Scotland short and long sleeve playing strips. What's even more interesting as I was explaining to him was that his GGGG grandfather was born at Markle - where legend has it the Scots Flag found its origin. It is the only non Australian game he is going too, and when asked by a friend of mine why, he said, "because it will be fantastic to watch Scotland kick the US *&%$" . we may be a long way away, but we never forget our roots.
