Hello All, my New Years resolution is to get back into researching my family tree so here goes :- I have recently found information on a new line of Armstrong's and would be interested to see if anyone else has a connection. There seem to be connections to Murray's and Cowans again as there are with my direct line It starts off with George Armstrong born 1803 at Draper Croft, (father Thomas mother Jane Renwick), Near Falstone in Northumberland. George is the younger brother of my Great,g,g,g, Grandfather Francis Armstrong. He farmed at KerseyCleugh very near to Kielder for most of his life but latterly moved to Newcastleton where he died in 1882 and is also buried at Castleton. He married twice firstly to Eleanor Nichol from Ovenshank, Roxburgh, Scotland in 1826, they had four children 1 Elizabeth 1827 2 Thomas 1829 3 Robert 1832 (He moved to Glasgow and became a wine and spirits merchant) 4 Francis 1833 Eleanor died in 1834 George married again sometime in the 1840's to Jane Elliot and they had eight children born between 1845 and 1860 :- 1 Agnes 1845 2 Jane 1846 3 Gideon 1847 4 Mary 1849 5 George 1851 6 William Murray 1853 7 Margaret 1858 8 Helen (born 1860 died 1848 Bellingham, Northumberland) I have quite a few details on some of the children, too much to list here, but there are some of the farms that the children were involved with, they may trigger someone's memory. Kersey Cleugh, Northumberland High Green, Northumberland Deadwater, Northumberland Ovenshank, Roxburgh Pleaknowe, Hobkirk, Roxburgh Langsidebrae, Cavers, Roxburgh Hallrule Cottages, Hobkirk, Roxburgh Tythehouse, Hobkirk Langburnshiels, Hobkirk Lustruther, Southdean, Roxburgh All the best for the New Year to all on the list Regards Michael Armstrong (Northumberland)
