If you change your email address, contact them all again!" Please believe her! Keep posting, keep inquiring, don't give up. Every so often new postings make connections: Here's two great examples: a.. My husband's grandmother was orphaned in a rural area of northern Minnesota. We only have three pictures of her before age 9 and only two of her parents. Recently, I did another inquiry on this remote little township and found another lister with different family connections. Long story short, he had an original photo of grandmother and her parents (1912). a.. Through a posting, I have located a woman in the Netherlands who is a local historian. She has documented nearly all of the families who emigrated from a particular area in the Netherlands during 1860-1865. As luck may have it, the surname that I am researching is included in her files. She has given me her GEDCOM files for the entire branch. About 200 people! Denise

    3. I agree!! Keep listing on mailing lists and checking websites to see who else is researching your names. I posted a message a few years ago on a message board and it was seen by two other researchers who were researching the same family. From thinking that we were the only DUMMA's on earth, I now have a database of over 500 family members and still counting. Not only did I find out a lot more about the family, but I have maintained contact and made new friends through this process. Don't give up. 3. May I suggest everyone open a Hotmail e-mail or some other permanent e-mail address to leave at the various message boards. I use Yahoo. So many people have changed their ISP and haven't change their e-mail address on the boards. So many are out of date. Georgia Clements.
