Hi Judy You mention Cross Keys on a Saturday night. I presume this is an inn Do you know anything about its history or who owned it?. It is in connection with Ebenezer Johnstone b1789 (father George). He ended up as owner of a paper in Stirling and he quoted that his father George was a woolen manufacturer in Dalkeith Galashiels, and grandfather an owner of property including Cross Keys Inn - and I don't know where this was located or even his name..
