Hi All, Where did you all go? Will you come back? Have I offended you all? Has someone else? More seriously has anyone heard anything of Alison DeCaen, she left the list a few weeks ago which was not in itself unusual, but now her e-mail account appears to be closed down. Has anyone been in contact? Regards Roy
I'm still here Roy, just hanging around, looking for Graham info. Also Hope, Hawkins, Mullins, Dunn, Carruthers, Tinnings, Braithwaites,Clubs and many more. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is still a Crindlesdyke farm near Longtown or Rockcliffe? Or if there are Rose Cottages near Smithfield or Longtown or Rockcliffe. I have found these addresses on correspondence of my grandparents from the 1920's to family there. It would be wonderful to be able to visit these places if they still exist. Hi Roy - I am still searching for ancestors in the Borders area most especially Andrew Scott b <1777> of Melrose & Gattonside. I would like to know when & where he died & who his parents were. His spouse was Joan Hope b <l777> d 1855 bur at Linton Cemetery per her death record where she is listed as a widow. There is no stone for her. There is a stone for her parents James Hope 1730-1806 & Margaret Turnbull <1739>- 1807 at the lovely Linton cemetery adjacent to Linton Kirk (near Morebattle). A friendly Scotsman has sent me great photos of the area. Last summer I was fortunate to have a wonderful trip to beautiful Scotland. My daughter & I visited Edinburgh & several towns in the Borders including Melrose, Morebattle, Linton & Selkirk. It was a real thrill to be there & to visit gravesites of some of our ancestors. I had hoped to find ancestor Andrew Scott's grave at Melrose but he wasn't there. Does anyone on the list have any suggestion as to where I might find him? Joan Fraser San Mateo, CA, USA
