Sarah writes: "Keep the faith, girlfriend, and keep on contacting every website and message board you can. Make sure you put your last name on every site you contact, with alternate spellings! If you change your email address, contact them all again!" Please believe her! Keep posting, keep inquiring, don't give up. Every so often new postings make connections: Here's two great examples: a.. My husband's grandmother was orphaned in a rural area of northern Minnesota. We only have three pictures of her before age 9 and only two of her parents. Recently, I did another inquiry on this remote little township and found another lister with different family connections. Long story short, he had an original photo of grandmother and her parents (1912). a.. Through a posting, I have located a woman in the Netherlands who is a local historian. She has documented nearly all of the families who emigrated from a particular area in the Netherlands during 1860-1865. As luck may have it, the surname that I am researching is included in her files. She has given me her GEDCOM files for the entire branch. About 200 people! Denise
>>That's why I haven't submitted my data to the various web sites. The only info I would get is mine.<< What the hell kinda attitude is that? If it's any encouragement, I was the Lone Ranger for Reveleys for 3 years, then slowly that started changing...people started contacting me! We now actually have a Reveley List (altho I contribute 98% of the posts ;-). We are even making connections to our various family branches, and are planning the First Annual International Reveley Reunion in London in September. Keep the faith, girlfriend, and keep on contacting every website and message board you can. Make sure you put your last name on every site you contact, with alternate spellings! Can't recall what you paid for it, but I saw it on the site of a book store in Kelso, ROX for about 10 pounds. Also some other things. Book stores are as bad as the CD shelves in Wal-Mart for me. MacGregor's I think. Found it while "googling". jld It finally happened. Was "googling" for Robson+Scotland and one entry was my own. It was the one I had entered on rootschat.com! That's why I haven't submitted my data to the various web sites. The only info I would get is mine.

Thomas' mother, Euphemia Elliot (nee Dickson Tait) died in 1896 at their residence 53 High Street, Jedburgh -was the widow of Walter Elliot, died about 1877 at Falla. I think Elizabeth married James Turnbull in 1923 (she would have been aged about 28 at the time). Searching for any information on this family - cannot find where the mother was buried; or when/where Thomas and Annie died/buried or any other information on their children. Thomas's older brother, James,is my great grandfather - he was born 1852 and came to southern Queensland in 1872 with his new bride Elizabeth Smith - they were married the day before the sailed to Australia - a three month trip - arriving here in March 1873 - summer! I have lots of information on James and Elizabeth and their children and their families. Regards Judy H.
Thanks, Denise. I'm becoming convinced I need to own it to read, not just get it from the library. If / When I get my own copy I'll let you'll know and share. jld

Hi The 1841 Census for Bowden has been placed in the upload folder for the FreeCen database today. Although it may appear on the database within the next few days please allow at least a week in case it has missed the weekly upload. I have been advised that the checked files for Maxton and Oxnam have been placed in the mail from the UK. So if snail mail is working well shld receive these within the next week allowing validation to commence and hopefully they will be available on the database within the next 3 to 4 weeks.
