Regarding a recent query re: Electoral rolls: The Local Studies Library in Paisley has Electoral/Voters Rolls for most elections between 1834 and 1879 in Paisley, some information about householders in the 4 Wards in Johnstone 1858-1866. Lists of those entitled to vote in parliamentary and town councils for Renfrew Burgh from 1872-1913. The Mitchell Library holds a series of voter’s rolls for Glasgow only, beginning at 1832 to date, with some gaps. Remember that Glasgow during the earlier years was smaller than it is now.
