Hello Jim, My WILLIAM BARR and JEAN BROWN were married in Johnstone (Abbey Parish) in 1823 and in 1841 lived in Walkinshaw Street, Johnstone a few doors from his brother JOHN and JEAN BARR. The men were masons and the women worked in the local cotton mill. Both families eldest children were 15 and 14 in 1841 so about half a generation out. Regards Don. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Baird" <jbaird@hotmail.com> To: <SCT-RENFREW-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 17, 2003 8:37 PM Subject: Re: [Renfrew] BARR and PATON in Johnstone (Abbey Paisley) > Hi Moira, > > I don't think I know enough about these ancestors (mine or yours) to make > any useful statement at this stage.
