Hello Elaine, I have no connection to your LANG/PAUL family as far as I know, however did take a look at them in the 1881 census and on the IGI and there are two marriages dates and places on the IGI which differ by exactly two years - and both extracted records! Assume you probably already know of this. You mention you have found two children, John and Margaret. There are two on the IGI, a Margaret Brown (born 1858) and an Elizabeth Blair (born 1863). I guess the "Elizabeth Blair" would suggest perhaps your John Lang was indeed the son of of William Lang and Elizabeth Blair. His age and place of birth in the 1881 census support you there as well. Do you have them in the 1881 census? If not I'll send you the details. It shows them with their neice, Mary Lang, aged 13 born Glasgow, living with them. best wishes, Andrew. >From: "Elaine" <dear@mts.net> >Reply-To: SCT-RENFREW-L@rootsweb.com >To: SCT-RENFREW-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [Renfrew] surname interest >Date: Sun, 4 May 2003 14:47:40 -0500 > >Hi Andrew, I have a John Lang born 3 Sept.1826 in Houston,Renfrew married >Mary McGill Paul, in 1844 in Erskine,Renfrew-they had 2 children that I >have >found so far John Lang 1856 and Margaret Lang 1858-I believe John's parents >were William Lang and Elizabeth Blair of Kilmalcolm, Renfrewshire, let me >know if we connect. >Regards,Elizabeth _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail now available on Australian mobile phones.
