    3. Irene, I know the feeling. I have been to England twice in recent years and spent most of the second visit in bed sick. I do most of my research via the LDS Family History Centres, viewing their films as they come in. It certainly helps to keep the overall costs down to a minimum. I do not know the costs in New Zealand, but here in Australia it costs A$6.00 to order in a film and you have access to it for one month. Still I am sure that you are already aware of this. >From: "Irene Polkinghorne" <polk@ihug.co.nz> >Subject: Re: [Renfrew] 1841 and 1851 Census - Gemmell > >As they get nearer to the 20th century it gets harder , especially if you >are not in Scotland. >I have had 3 trips but my money has all gone now and am retired so broke >constantly, very expensive hobby this.. > >Irene in New Zealand. 3. Hi David, Thanks for your help, Yes I do try to get the films and read some others as well. Have done a bit of transcribing from Ayrshire films. Costs in NZ are similar to Aus but we have to wait for them to come from Aus. 3-6 weeks. By then you have almost forgotten what you wanted from Film.. These children are new to me, I'm having trouble tracking the family down. Mine seem to move all the time, coalminers or quarriers.. Will need to dig a bit deeper. I am a bit afraid I am going to find "born IRELAND." I haven't been there yet.. SWEENEY has lots of researchers, but ours has always been "IE" on the end. There is a mystery in there somewhere.
